Been a member of a good few gyms now and this one hands down is the best in Wigan. Particularly since its had its renovations. I'd take the opportunity to say there's a few aging bits here and there that could do with a good scrub or the odd tile replaced etc but overall really well kept gym.

Fitness First is a great gym full of all the kit you could need for strength, fitness, cardio, classes, squash courts and a relaxing pool, jacuzzi and steam room area. It is a welcoming place with staff that all want to help you succeed (including myself!) and we are here for you to ask questions. Shout out to the main man and lady Curtis and Alison who are both such valuable parts of our gym, always keeping it looking impeccably clean and a nice environment for everyone. I’ve been a part of this gym for over 16 months and I have worked with some amazing people and clients that have now become friends. Best gym in Wigan and with the recent major refurbishment it is the place to be! Staff are great and would highly recommend 5 stars!

The gym itself is OK, but very weights centric. At certain times of day there are dozens of children running around the corridors as they have swimming classes (avoid the pool at these times, it gets crowded) They also very evidently allow male members to use the female changing rooms. The worst thing for us though were the reception Staff. One of the young women literally turns her back whenever we walk in and another male continues playing on his phone. Glances up then ignores you. Neither of them ever welcome you. We are two elderly women, so are, probably invisible! Now left and attend Bolton. Much friendlier :)

little bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. always clean wonderful staff and facilities and overall a really pleasant gym experience. it's never overly busy if you go at the right times and there's pretty much always a spot free for me to do my workouts. not to mention the great pool and sauna for you to use. Great place and I would definitely recommend

Nic and Alicia who were on the reception this morning were so helpful and welcoming, they instantly made me feel settled which set me up for an amazing workout with the high quality equipment provided in the gym. You can straight away see how much the staff care for the members, can't fault any of them at all. Everywhere was also really clean. Really would recommend this gym to anyone.

Really disappointed with the classes recently. Very few classes at night. Sometimes there are no classes at night. The classes that are on are too early, a lot of people work 9 to 5 therefore unable to attend the 17.15 classes. They should be put back to 17.30.

Excellent gym, would highly recommend. All staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. On my day pass I was greeted by Alicia Jones who was a great help with everything, she carried a warm smile that never left her face, Looking forward to joining.
